Unfinished Business
It was one of those events you can never quite figure out. One minute you are driving home, and the next a car in the southbound lane makes a textbook perfect crossing into the northbound lane you are in. The truck in front of you takes action to avoid the errant car, and you take action to avoid the large truck in front of you. Within moments a small Dodge car is totaled, and the driver dead. You are fine, your vehicle undamaged, but boy that whiplash hurts!
When there is a fatal accident, the first responders are quick to put a sheet or tarp over the vehicle with the corpse in it. Nobody likes seeing an accident, and a corpse alongside a busy road does not lead to smooth traffic flow.
We’ll call the surviving subject to this accident Joe. Joe made his statement to the police, and finally got home, blessing the anti lock breaks on his new vehicle that let him avoid being a part of the accident.
After a couple of days Joe put the accident out of his mind, and went on with day to day life. Weeks and months fly by but Joe’s neck still gives him pain from time to time. An untreated souvenir of the little accident.
Joe finally had enough of the pain. After confirming he was still legally eligible to file a claim against the estate of the man who caused the accident, he makes an appointment with a lawyer to discuss the matter, and goes home.
Sitting behind his computer screen that night, Joe stops for a moment to take off his glasses, and rub his tired eyes and try to work the kinks out of his neck. If nothing else, a doctor would be taking care of the whiplash soon enough.
One does not expect to see the upper half of a human head when they close their eyes, but that is exactly what Joe saw.
It has been established when spirits communicate with the living, they do not always use words, but rather thoughts and impressions to communicate. This happened tonight. What follows is Joe’s own statements about the moments following his surprising vision.
“I saw the upper half of a head. The impression I got was that this was the more presentable half of the head. I realized then that this was the spirit of the person who had caused the car wreck that had been on my mind for a while. I got an impression of anger. Anger that I was keeping his spirit here on earth with unfinished business. While talking may be too strong a word, I did speak with the spirit (which I am convinced to this day was a spirit.) I explained how I was in pain from the accident. At this point the anger changed to a sorrow and sadness. The spirit expressed that he had never meant to hurt anyone, that the whole thing truly was an accident. I had an impression of a medical condition. I expressed my forgiveness, but indicated I still had medical problems from the incident. I had another impression of sadness and regret. I opened my eyes and pondered this rather disturbing and unusual event. Strangely enough after that visit I no longer had the pain, and canceled my appointment with the lawyer. From that moment onward, the pain I had been experiencing was gone.”
There you have it folks, in “Joe’s” own words. The story of unfinished business and pain between a living person, and the departed.
